When you look into lifting and search for information, there are two names you encounter most often, right?
They are'Thermage'and'Ulthera'It is.

Lately, however, I see a lot of instances where these two words are combined into"Ulthermage"as an expression.
Patients who come in for consultations also often ask questions like this.
"Doctor, between Ulthera and Thermage,
which one would suit me better?"

So today, I'll try to explain step by step the answer to that concern aboutUlthermage—from me, a Gongdeok Dermatology Specialist.
1. Thermage and Ulthera target different layers!
First, it's important to understand how these two differ.

They use different types of energy and they stimulate different depths of the skin.
Thermage (radiofrequency):delivers heat to the dermis, which is close to the skin surface.

It tightens loosened collagen fibers that come with aging and induces new collagen formation.
It is excellent at improving surface skin firmness and smoothing texture.

Ulthera (ultrasound):sends energy to deeper zones that typical radiofrequency has difficulty reaching, namely the SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system).
It directly stimulates the structural layer that sags due to gravity, lifting strongly from the inside.

Simply put,
Thermage is responsible for the skin's 'surface' firmness, while Ulthera handles the skin's 'deep' contour.
2. Why combine the two?
The reason we perform these two procedures, which target different layers, together is clear.

treating both the outside and the inside together with Ulthera and Thermage can be helpful.
3. Honest care promised by Mind Dermatology
Although the synergy of Ulthera and Thermage is real, I don't recommend the procedure to everyone.

Each person differs in skin thickness, fat volume, and the pace of aging.
