Hello.
Sincerely improving the essence of the skin,
Director of Mind Dermatology
I am Dr. Hongseon Lee, a dermatologist with 17 years of experience.
"My cheeks weren't this hollow before...
As I age,
my face is gradually becoming more peanut-shaped.
How can I fix this?"
The temples and side cheeks become sunken while the cheekbones and lower jaw remain, creating an uneven facial contour.
this peanut-shaped facethat's what it's called.
As you age, dermal collagen decreases and fat shifts, so many people probably experience this change.
It's an unavoidable part of natural aging.. :(
When this happens, the face can look tired and lose volume, which can make you appear older than you actually are.
So today I'd like to introduce Sculptra, a skin booster treatment that is especially helpful for this peanut-shaped face^^

What is Sculptra?
Why it is especially helpful for improving a peanut-shaped face
However, please note just this one thing
1. What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is one of the volume-enhancing procedures often compared with hyaluronic acid fillers.
While hyaluronic acid fillers are gel-like substances injected directly to immediately fill depressed areas,
Sculptra involves injecting a substance called PLLA with the goal of creating a slightly slower but “natural” volumeas a skin booster treatment^^
PLLA is gradually broken down in the body while stimulating nearby fibroblasts, activating them and inducing collagen production.
Because the collagen your body produces fills in the depressed areas slowly to build volume,
it tends to attract attention from people who want a non-artificial, natural change,:)

2. Why it is especially helpful for improving a peanut-shaped face
"For improving a peanut-shaped face,
is Sculptra better than filler?"
Fillers are clearly advantageous for creating precise shapes and delivering immediate effects.
However, if cheek hollows are forcibly filled entirely with volume, the volume can concentrate in one area and create visible borders or a lumpy appearance.
If injected excessively, it can also give a slightly artificial impression.
Sculptra, however, stimulates collagen production evenly over a wide area and helps the skin generate its own volume,
so the sunken lateral cheeks, temples, and zygomatic lines tend to connect smoothly, making a more natural result easier to achievethan with fillers.
In other words, rather than injecting separate volumes into broad areas, it creates a smooth, seamless gradient without hard borders.

Another characteristic is that there is no foreign-body sensation when making facial expressions.
Areas with a lot of movement, such as around the mouth or lateral cheeks, can feel odd or awkward if an external material is present,
but because Sculptra fills by promoting your own collagen, it feels natural to the touch and makes facial expressions much easier to use freely.
For that reason, it is often used specifically for cheek hollows and improving a peanut-shaped face ^^

3. However, please pay attention to the following
You should be somewhat cautious about the risk of nodule formation.
This refers to the phenomenon where injected PLLA particles cluster in one place and become palpable as hard granules.
To prevent this, there are two points to be careful aboutthat you need to keep in mind.
Namely, the dilution concentration and sufficient reconstitution.
If the powder-form ingredient is not adequately reconstituted, the particles can stick together under the skin and form hard nodules,
so it is good to thoroughly check before the procedure whether sufficient reconstitution is performed. This is recommended.
Also, if the dilution concentration is too high, there is a higher likelihood that the ingredient will become excessively concentrated in certain areas,
Medical staff with sufficient experience who know how to adjust the amount of solution generously to disperse it widely and evenlyIt is recommended to receive the procedure from such clinicians.

< If you are looking for a clinic good at Sculptra
?>
Sculptra can certainly help improve cheek hollowing and a peanut-shaped face,
but injection site planning, dilution concentration, and layer control often have a direct impact on outcomes.
Therefore, if you are considering Sculptra for improving a peanut-shaped face, be sure to have your facial volume distribution assessed,
and work with clinicians who plan in advance which layers and at what concentrations to inject.I recommend that you proceed with such clinicians.
I will provide care with sincerity.

Question |
Answer |
|
Q. How many Sculptra sessions are needed to see an effect? |
A. For first-time patients, we usually recommend 2–3 sessions at 3–4 week intervals. However, the required number of sessions can vary depending on the degree of volume loss and the speed of collagen response, so I recommend not to rush to conclusions and to consider a thorough assessment before deciding. |
|
Q. How is Sculptra different from Juvederm? |
A. Both induce collagen production, but their components and goals differ. Sculptra is composed of PLLA and focuses on volume improvement in depressed areas. JuveLook is based on PDLLA and hyaluronic acid and is mainly used to improve skin texture, pores, and fine wrinkles. |
|
Q. Is swelling severe after Sculptra treatment? |
A. Because it's an injection procedure, swelling and bruising may occur on the day. Most of the time they naturally subside within 3–7 days. |
